Kadena Roadside Station
Let’s observe all the colors and moods of the Wind and meet her friends: the flowers and fruits of Okinawa!
Road Station Kadena is famous for its observatory overlooking the Kadena Air Base, where you can watch the planes take off into the air. They fly into the wide blue sky, into the home of the Wind, who is the main character of some paintings of mine. She is running on the horizon, chasing the airplanes, playing with her huge fluffy cloud hair. But you don’t have to be flying in the air to meet her ! She is all around the seaside town of Kadena!

When you visit Kadena roadside station, on your way up to the observatory, stop by my exhibition to meet the Wind, to observe all her moods and colors, and to play with all her friends: the flowers and the fruits of Okinawa!
Pick your favorite local fruit at the farmers market, and then meet them at my exhibition next door!
This exhibition tells a story about the Wind and her friends, and where you can find her, if you follow her “footsteps”. The display have three parts, a “Wind wall”, a “Flower wall” and a “Fruit wall” next to the farmers market^^ It is so much fun to exhibit my fruit paintings next to the real fruit market:D
I have a little “sunset” wall, since Kadena seaseide has so amazing sunsets, I made a new painting inspired by the sunsets I have seen in this town. You can learn that the WInd has different moods, changing the color palette of the coast. You can also find out what the Wind learns from different flowers and fruits. Her journey is all about meeting new colors, having new experiences, learning and growing. I wonder if you follow the footsteps of the Wind, will you find any similarities between you and her:)
